Merkel Germany is facing biggest challenge since WWII
German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the coronavirus outbreak is the biggest challenge the country has ever faced since World War II. She was speaking in her first televised address to the nation, apart from New Year's greetings, in her 15 years in service. Germany has shut down schools, many businesses and public spaces, as well as imposing cross border travel restrictions. The country has more than 12,000 confirmed cases.
